Burmese Pythons
This study uses liver tissue collected from Burmese pythons on both the East and West coasts of South Florida. West coast liver samples were provided to us by Ian Bartoszek with The Conservancy of South Florida. The East coast samples were provided by Melissa Miller and Kevin Olejniczak with the Fort Lauderdale Research and Education Center. The aim of this study is to see if these apex predators are contaminated with PFAS and provide insight into bioaccumulation in the Everglades and surrounding area.
